Cricket is not a game, It is a Passion. A Passion that unites the people even with the diverse views and beliefs. Cricket has gone much more beyond being just a gentlemen's game and acquired a huge fan following and popularity across the world. 

Pakistan Cricket

Pakistan is a great Cricket Nation. The Cricket history for Pakistan predates Pakistan's independence in 1947. Pakistani fans are the most passionate cricket fans all around the world. The outcome of a match decides their mood swings. An important behavior of the fans is their immense involvement in every single game and the players. And somehow, the bond between the fans and the players exists much beyond the field.

With time, many new forms and formats of Cricket are introduced. Twenty-20 is the most exciting part of the game for the fans. The Cricket Leagues that are introduced by most of the Cricket nations have captured great attention by the Cricket fans. 

The Cricket in Pakistan is governed by The Pakistan Cricket Board. PCB is an official member of the International Cricket Council and the Asian Cricket Council. PCB arranges all types of domestic Cricket events in Pakistan including the Pakistan Super League, one of the most exciting cricket league. Cricket is in the genes of every Pakistani fan and even Pakistani children start playing it at a very young age.  This game is the most popular sport in the country right now.

Cricket being the most famous and exciting sport in the country, the fans have been thriving to watch Cricket in Pakistani stadiums since 2009. Unfortunately, Cricket stadiums in Pakistan were empty as no International Cricket was being played there. But in the past few years, there has been huge progress in bringing International Cricket back to Pakistan. Zimbabwe, Srilanka, and West Indies toured Pakistan in 2015, 2017, 2018 respectively. 

PSL finals in 2017, 2018, and 2019 (all final stage matches) were also played in Pakistan. Then in 2019 Srilanka again toured Pakistan. And the entire PSL was held in Pakistan in 2020 that brought out a lot of International players to Pakistani Stadiums.

Memorable Title Wins for Pakistan

1. 1992 Cricket World Cup Final:

That memorable match was played in Melbourne on March 25, 1992. That was a historical moment for Pakistan Cricket. Pakistan defeated England by 22 runs under the captaincy of Imran Khan to lift their first-ever Cricket World Cup Title. Wasim Akram was the player of the match.

2. 2009 ICC World T20 Final:

Pakistan defeated Srilanka by 8 wickets to win their first-ever WT20 title at the historic Lord's Cricket Ground, London on June 21, 2009, under the captaincy of Younis Khan. Shahid Afridi was the player of the match.

3. ICC Champions Trophy 2017:

Pakistan defeated India by 180 runs at Oval, London on June 18, 2017. That was one of the most historic wins ever for Pakistan as they defeated none other than India. Fakhar Zaman and Mohammad Amir were the heroes of the day.

Pakistani fans are considered the most passionate and emotional fans in the world. Pakistani fans are all about Extremes. They are backing their team on each and every day when Pakistan is on the ground.  Everyone is an Expert and every house is a Commentary Box when Pakistan is playing Cricket especially against India.
